110 Danger Ahead

Tammy is in a car with her family going to visit relatives for vacation.  Her brother-in-law is driving the car and her sister sits in the front seat.  Tammy is in the back seat with her parents.

As Tammy looks out in the distance, she sees that the bridge is out.  Her parents are busy talking to each other and do not seem to notice anything.  Tammy tries to tell her brother-in-law that the bridge is out.  He looks forward and says that there is nothing wrong with the bridge and Tammy is mistaken.  Alarmed, Tammy looks to her sister, but her sister only defers to her husband and nods in agreement with him.  There is nothing wrong with the bridge, she says.  We will be fine.

However, Tammy looks again and she sees that the bridge is clearly broken.  She knows that if her brother-in-law continues on the road and drive the car over teh bridge, the car will fall off into the canyon below and everyone will die.  Maddeningly, on one seems to notice that the bridge is broken.  Tammy stares helplessly at the bridge.  Is she crazy?  How come she is the only that sees the danger ahead?  Should she yell at her family to pay attention at see the peril that they are in?  Or should she just keep silent and hope that they will pass over the bridge without harm like her brother-in-law says?  What should she do?

What should Tammy do?  What would you do if you were in Tammy's shoes?  While the answer seems so straightforward in this scenario, do we act in the same manner for friends and family who do not believe in God?  Are we silent as they live their lives not knowing the great sacrifice Jesus made at Calvary for all of mankind?

Jesus promises that those who hold no evil in their hearts will surely see God. Karen Holford tries to do just that.
