117 Code Violations

Desmond thought he had the best restaurant in town.  His restaurant was busy every night and it was packed during the weekends.  His dishes were getting rave reviews from critics, foodies, and regular customers alike.  Desmond was making money hand over fist, but he was especially proud of how his restaurant was run.  His operation seemed neat and efficient.  Healthy food cooked expertly and served quickly.  His restaurant seemed so perfect.

However, the health inspector came one day.  He quietly went through Desmond's restaurant with a keen eye, notepad, and pen.  One of Desmond's cooks did not wear a hair net.  $100 fine.  Another cook forgot to wash his hands after taking out the trash.  $200 fine.  Oven was dirty and not up to code standards.  $500 fine.  A dead cockroach lying in the corner of the pantry.  $1000 fine!

The health inspector cited Desmond for all these violations and then some.  Desmond was shocked to see how much improvement his restaurant needed.  He didn't even know about some of the code standards until the health inspector explained them to him.  Humbled by these violations, Desmond promised the health inspector to bring his restaurant up to code standards now that he is aware.  Desmond got to work immediately, determined the follow all the health regulations and make his restaurant even better!

The Ten Commandments make us painfully aware of the sin we have committed in our lives and that we are all in need of salvation.  Once we have accepted Jesus Christ in our lives, we do not discard the Ten Commandments away!  Instead, it is through Jesus we are empowered to keep His commandments out of love for Him!
