123 Only a Dime
Pastor Gregory decided to take the bus to go to a church conference in another city. He gave the bus driver $5 to pay for the bus fare, and the bus drive gave him his change.
Pastor Gregory looked down at the change and realized the bus driver gave him a dime too much. Pastor Gregory was tempted to keep the dime. It's only a dime, he thought to himself for a brief moment. However, Pastor Gregory thought better of it and decided to give the dime back to the bus driver.
The bus driver looked at Pastor Gregory square in the eyes and smiled. The bus driver told Pastor Gregory that he knew he gave him a dime too much and he knew who Pastor Gregory was.
The bus driver went on to tell Pastor Gregory that he and his wife used to go to church years ago, but he drifted away and his wife ended up following suit. His wife tragically died in a car accident last year. The bus driver felt so guilty for leading his wife astray. The bus driver wanted to start going to church again, but he wanted to see if Pastor Gregory was honest.
Pastor Gregory took a seat and sat in silence. As he got off, the bus driver thanked him and told him that will see him at church next week. Pastor Gregory got off the bus, still shaken. He grabbed onto a lamppost to steady himself as he watched the bus leave. Pastor Gregory then prayed to God for forgiveness. Pastor Gregory had almost sold a son of God for a dime.
Though we may not know it, people may be watching us and judging whether or not they should consider following Christianity based upon our actions. Live your life in such a manner that it will be an honorable example to all those around you!
