124 Unending Stairs

Little Zack was playing with his blocks in the living room while his grandmother was watching television.  Zack's mother had gone upstairs to take a phone call.  After a while, Zack noticed that his mother had not come back yet.  Zack started missing his mother and stopped playing with his blocks.

Zack smiled at the thought of being in his mother's warm embrace and decided that he was going to go to his mother.  Zack crawled towards to the base of the stairs.  He looked up and he knew that his mother was there somewhere.  The stairs looked like a big mountain to him, but Zack thought of his mother again and was determined to climb up.

Zack struggled and made it up two stairs.  He looked up again.  The stairs seemed so endless!  How was he ever going to get to the top?  However, Zack kept thinking about his mother and climbed on.

Zack kept climbing.  It was hard for him, but Zack kept smiling.  His mother was up there.  He can make it.  She is just waiting there for him, ready to give him a big hug.

Zack finally made it to the top, tired but still smiling.  His mother finished her phone call and was shocked to see him waiting for her at the top of the stairs.  "Oh, Zack!  What are you doing here?" his mother exclaimed as she picked him up, chiding him.

Zack's smile grew even wider.  He conquered the endless stairs and was now nestled snugly in his mother's warm embrace.

Although God is invisible to our eyes and may seem very far away from us at times, we do not have to climb an endless flight of stairs or even a mountain to see God.  We just need to come to Jesus.  When we draw near to Jesus, we draw near to the Father.  One day Jesus will come for us and take us to the Father!
