131 Blizzard

Roderick's movements were getting very sluggish.  He knew he was freezing to death.  Roderick got caught in a blizzard while hiking in the mountains.  He could not see more than a couple feet in front on him.  He kept struggling to move forward, but the wind was so fierce, and it was so difficult to move in the snow.  It was also so very, very cold.

Roderick bumped into a tree stump and sat down.  Maybe he should just give up and accept death.  As Roderick was about to give up, he saw a familiar shape next to him.  There was another man lying in the snow, half-dead.

Roderick checked on the man and saw that he was still breathing.  All of the sudden the desire to live sprang back to life into Roderick.  He couldn't sit here and watch another man die before him.

Roderick picked up the other man and continued to struggle forward.  After only 100 yards, Roderick ran smack into a cabin.  They were saved!  Roderick knocked on the door and a woodsman let him and the other man in.  Roderick huddled by the fire the woodsman had kindled while the woodsman attended to Roderick's newfound companion.  Roderick marveled that he was about to give up and die when he was so close to refuge.

Sometimes it is by helping to save other that we are saved, too.  Do not be the frozen chosen and leave your faith in the cold!  Share the Good News of what Jesus has done for you!
