143 Fancy Suits
Reginald was new in town. He had just recently moved from back east. Reginald had recently made the decision to follow Jesus after attending an evangelistic series before moving. He wanted to go to a Bible-believing church with people fully devoted to God. However, he wasn't sure where would be the best church to go to.
Reginald decided he would just attend different services until he felt that he found the right church. He went to services that had contempory up-tempo praise songs. He went to churches that followed a more traditional style of worship. In all these churches, the pastors all wore fancy suits and gave good sermons. But for some reason, Reginald had a nagging feeling none of these churches were the right place for him.
One day Reginald went to a small church. The people there were very nice just like in all the other churches. The praise songs that were played were nothing fancy, as Reginald had heard it before. However, Reginald noticed one peculiar thing about the pastor as he got up to deliver the sermon. The pastor had a fancy suit like the other pastors at the other churches, but the pants were worn at the knees. Why would that be? Reginald wondered.
Reginald kept thinking about the pastor's clothing after the service ended, and all day until he was about to go to bed. As Reginald knelt down to say his nightly prayers, he suddenly realized why the pastor's pants were worn. Reginald smiled to himself and silently thanked God for showing him the right church to go to.
