146 Hand-Carved Stones
Professor Smith was in Honduras on an archaeological dig. After hours of hard work at the excavation site, they drove back to a local town to have lunch. As Professor Smith was eating his lunch, he noticed that a man was building a stone house about 30 feet away from him. Professor Smith watched with great interest as the man was intently and carefully chiseling away at each stone. The man would then fit each chiseled stone onto the stone wall he was building, which would be the side of his house. If the fit was not perfect, the man would chisel away some more until the stone fit perfectly.
This is nothing like the States where we just used poured concreted, Professor Smith thought to himself. This is a lot of hard work for that man, but the result will surely be a sturdy house. In fact, the stone wall he is building is beautiful in how all the individual stones fit so neatly and perfectly together!
We are all called together to living stones, each with our own talents, to fit together and work together as one body to glorify God!
