149 Conviction Vs. Change

Pastor Bob had been preaching on health and lifestyle reform the past couple of weeks.  He noticed that there was a young man who always sat at the front and listened intently to his sermons.  Pastor Bob decided to ask the young man what he thought of his sermons after service one day.

The young man told Pastor Bob that he was very impressed his sermons and he felt convicted that Pastor Bob was preaching the truth.  The young man saw that there were many good reasons, including spiritual and scientific reasons, to quit smoking and drinking and to adopt a more plant-based diet,

Pastor Bob smiled and was pleased that his sermons had so remarkably affected the young man.  Pastor Bob then asked the young man what he was going to do with this conviction.  The young man paused for a moment and said that he is going to change later.  There is a big New Year's party coming up, after all.  The young man promised that he would definitely change his ways afterwards.

How sad it is for those who have received truth, but do not act upon it!  We need to walk in the light God gives us, or else we will be left standing lost in the darkness.
