175 Precious Flashlight
Tommy and his family went on a guided spelunking tour in a cave in the mountains. They hiked through dark twisted tunnels until they reached a cavern. The tour guide told Tommy and his family to sit down and turn off their flashlights. As Tommy turned off the flashlight, a thick darkness enveloped him.
This darkness was unlike anything Tommy had every experienced before. It was pitch black. Tommy could see absolutely nothing. He even waved his hand in front of his face, but he could not see his hand at all. The darkness was so thick, that Tommy could almost feel it.
After a few minutes, the tour guide told everyone to turn on their flashlights and they continued on their tour. Tommy suddenly felt very grateful for his flashlight, illuminuting a small light in the darkness. Tommy realized that if his flashlight went out, Tommy would have no idea where to go. It would be impossible for him to be make it out of the cave on his own.
Tommy looked down at his flashlight and cradled in gingerly. Flashlights were something Tommy took for granted in the past, but now he realized what truly precious things they can be.
Jesus is the light of the world. If you follow Jesus, you can trust that your path in life, though rocky at times, will be true and always lighted.
