37 The Big Sign

Ben was a truck driver who had fallen on hard times.  No matter how much he prayed to God, things seemed to be getting worse for him as he had difficulty finding steady work and was having marital problems with his wife.  "Was God really out there and did God even love me?" Ben would think to himself. "I'm trying to be a good Christian, but nothing seems to be going right for me!"

Ben then started praying every day and asking for God for a sign.  "God, please show me a a big sign that You are there and that You actually love me.  I feel so hopeless and lost now.  I'm at the end of my rope!  Please answer my prayer, O God!" cried out Ben.

About a week later, Ben was driving to Fresno with a load of goods to deliver.  He drove down a long, lonely stretch of highway.  As Ben rounded a turn, he saw a big billboard sign of Jesus with His arms stretched out wide.  The sign read, "I love you.  Is this sign big enough?"

There should be no doubt in our minds that God loved us.  The Bible declares that God formed us in the womb and loved us with an everlasting love.  In fact, though we are all sinners deserving of death, God loved us so much that he gave Jesus, His only begotten Son, to die in our place to take away our sins that we may have eternal life if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior!
