51 Riches in Heaven

Ebenezer McMillion was one of the richest men in the entire world.  He made a fortune in stocks and commodities, which he used to make many canny investments, making him even richer.  He was actually a good and decent man who helped others in need, but his major flaw was that he sometimes got a little too carried away in thinking about how to acquire more wealth.  One day, Ebenezer died of a heart attack.  His family and work associates gathered to his mansion, to hear the reading of his will by the executor.  As the executor was reading Ebenezer's will, telling the audience how Ebenezer wanted his wealth distributed after his death, everyone was shocked at one part of the will where Ebenezer specified one million dollars of his fortune be converted to gold bouillon and to be buried with him along with a cart.  Apparently, Ebenezer was dead set on taking some of his wealth with him.

After the resurrection, Ebenezer is struggling with his cart, trying to push it down the golden streets of heaven.  Two angels witness this scene and marvel.  One angel turns to the another and asks, "Hey, why is this guy carting all those bricks?  Is there a wall that needs to be patched up?"

It has once been humorously said that no one has ever seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul trailer.  You really cannot take it with you.  Jesus counsels us to avoid being caught up in worldliness and the things of this world.  Instead, we should turn our attentions to attaining heavenly treasures, things that will last all eternity, long after all worldly riches rust and fade away.  What are these heavenly treasures?  They are salvation through Jesus Christ and the joy of living a life dedicated to the living God!  Will you seek these priceless treasures in your life?
