66 Too Busy
When Eric first heard the Gospel message when he was a young boy, he was convicted by its truth. However, he was in school at the time. Eric had lots of studying to do. Eric wanted to focus on finishing his education first. He was just too busy right now. After he finished college, he thought to himself, then he would get baptized.
When Eric finally finished college, he got a good job and started working. A co-worker shared with him the story of Jesus during an office party one day. The co-worker invited Eric to go to church with him, but Eric declined, saying that he had to work first and earn some money so he can buy a house for himself. It was not a good time right now. Maybe later, when he wasn't so busy.
When Eric finally saved up enough money, he bought a nice house in a nice neighborhood. One of the landscapers gave Eric some Bible literature. Eric was very interested in learning more about the Bible after reading the tract, but now was not a good time he thought to himself. He was dating a nice girl and was thinking about marrying her. Eric needed to work some extra overtime, so he could buy a diamond ring and propose to her. He was just too busy right now. After he got married, he would have time to read the Bible.
When Eric got married, it was a very joyous time for him. During the wedding reception, Eric met a couple of friends who returned from a missionary trip just to attend his wedding. They asked Eric if he wanted to go a missionary trip with them in the future. Eric thought it was a wonderful idea, but he politely declined. Eric wanted to raise a family first. He was too busy right now. After he had a child with his wife, maybe then he could go with them in a few years...
What is it that gets between you and God? A preacher once said that if God is not first in your life, then He is not present at all. God can only save you when He is first in your life. If you are too busy for God, you may find yourself lost forever. Friends, no matter how busy you are, put Christ in your life first!
