89 Money in the Attic

Junius and Olga were an elderly couple who on their 50th wedding anniversary decided to walk to the high school on where they first met and fell in love 60 years ago.  They stopped at the tree where Junius carved “Junius loves Olga” with a pocket knife.  They reminisced about old times and held hands and walked home.

As they were walking down the street, a car swerved around the corner and roared past them.  Junius noticed all the men in the car were wearing ski masks.  Not too long after seeing this odd sight, a couple of police cars zoomed past the couple in hot pursuit of the first car.  As Junius and Olga were commenting on this unusual scene, Olga noticed a bag on the ground that fell out when the first car was making that turn around the corner.

The bag contained $50,000.  Astonished, Junius told Olga, “We have to give this money back!”  However Olga responded, “Finders keepers!”

Despite Junius’ protests, Olga took the money home and hid it in the attic.  The next day, the FBI went going door to door and asking residents about the missing money bag.  They came to Junius’ and Olga’s house and asked if they had seen the money bag or knew anything about its whereabouts.  Olga replied no.

Junius then exclaimed, “She’s lying!  The money bag is in our attic!”

Olga retorted, “Please don’t listen to him officer.  My husband is just a senile old man.”

However, the FBI told Junius, “Go ahead, sir, and tell us the story.”

Julius said, “Well officer, yesterday Olga and I were walking home from school when…”

The FBI looked at each other incredulously then one of the detectives said, “Let’s get out of here.”

Satan has flooded the world with his lies to such an extent that when we try to share the truth of God, many people in the world scoff at us and say “let’s get out of here.”  Nevertheless, we must continue to battle for God and share the Gospel truth!
