90 The 94th Airborne Division

Captain Wilson was on a plane with new recruits for the 94th Airborne Division for their first airborne parachute drop.  There was a nervous excitement palpable in the cabin as the troopers were prepping for their jump.  Once the plane reached the proper altitute and speed, Captain Wilson opened the cabin door and ordered the troopers to line up single file.

Captain Wilson then had the troopers jump out of the plane in regular intervals, pushing each one out himself.  Each trooper jumped out of the plane towards the drop zone and pulled the ripcord to open their parachutes up.  As they landed, they untackled their gear and ran towards the rendevous point.

However, the last solder in the plane had cold feet and hesitated when he peered out of the cabin door and saw the open sky below.  He cried out to Captain Wilson, "Sir, I can't do this!"

Captain Wilson sternly glared at the soldier and barked out, "Go go go!"  Without hesitation, Captain Wilson gave a hard push to the soldier out of the plane!  The soldier momentarily panicked as fell downward, but instinct and his training kicked in as he successfully pulled the ripcord and executed a perfect landing.  Captain Wilson cracked a slight smile as he looked on and closed the cabin door.

As Christians, we must continually go forward in faith and spirit.  There is no turning back to the world behind us, just marching on towards the cross before us.
