99 Hypocrites

Wesley and Tim were very good friends, even though they have very different beliefs about religion.  Tim was a devout Christian, where on the other hand, Wesley was a skeptic.

Once Wesley told Tim that he didn't go to church because "there were too many hypocrites" at church.  Tim briefly pondered this statement, then smiled wryly.  He asked Wesley if he were a Lakers fan, to which Wesley replied, "Of course.!"  Tim then asked Wesley if he thought that if there were any Lakers fans who were hypocrites, who only jumped on the Lakers band wagon this year because they were winning and didn't cheer for the Lakers when they were losing.  Wesley admitted that this point is most likely true.  Finally, Tim asked if Wesley still watched Lakers game even though he knew that there are Lakers fans who are hypocrites.

Wesley quickly replied that of course he would watch Lakers games and cheer for the Lakers even though there were hypocritical Lakers fans.  Wesley paused for a moment and realized his words.  He smiled and was forced to concede to Tim that his excuse about not going to church because of hypocrites in the church was not valid at all.

Don't let your salvation be determined by the acts of others!  Choose for yourself whether or not to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior on its own merits.
